Mutsu
Bumpy and dotted surface. A pear's cousin.
Rough and almost chalky.
A very crisp bite with dense flesh. The skin has a pretty long chew timeāit just keeps going!
The flesh has a great pear flavor. As the chew develops and the skin breaks down, it adds an earthy and herby flavor. The skin tastes like a tart pear while the flesh tastes like a ripe one.
Nice texture and interesting, evolving flavor. Like munching on grass. Thinly slice it on a salad.
